Lubrication

With only a few exceptions, all movements (the working part of the clock) should be taken completely out of the case and the dial (face) of the clock removed so it can be properly lubricated.

Should someone try to lubricate your clock just from the openings on the side of the clock, they would not be lubricating the clock properly.  It is almost impossible to get to the pivot holes and levers that are behind the dial (face).

If a service person does not disassemble the clock, show the service person to the door because they are only lubricating half the clock.  You would be paying for a job that is a waste of your money.

When a technician from Lindell's Grandfather Clock Repair services your clock they should follow the procedures listed above.  If you believe they did not follow our guidelines, please call us immediately at (877) 245-0083.
